Spring is approaching, even if we are the ones who miss it the most. That desire for flowers, light and pastel-colored clothes, nude and luminous makeup is forcefully present in our heads.

But let’s go into specifics so as to understand what the SCC contains since there are very few guides in Italian online, among these, the most exhaustive and complete video that helped me better understand what it was about, is that of my friend Donatella of Lo Stile di Artemide that you can find on her Youtube channel .
WHAT IS SKINNY COFFEE CLUB.
As we said before, SCC is not just a coffee , but a detox/slimming program that starts from a blend of coffee to be combined with a balanced diet (otherwise what kind of detox is it) and preferably with a physical exercise plan.
COFFEE.
Skinny Coffee is an American coffee and therefore the classic long coffee to drink in a cup. One cup a day is enough , preferably in the morning, to have the energy you need for the whole day.
It is preferably prepared with a French Press , a press for making American coffee, but it is possible to use a sieve, a tea strainer, an American coffee filter or the classic moka pot.
Not having a French Press, I wanted to try the possible methods for us Italians to enjoy this watered-down American coffee: with the moka pot and with the infuser.
The amount of coffee to use is always a teaspoon, with the moka the SCC has a particular taste, it has the flavour of coffee, with the aftertaste of tea but with a hint of sweetness (well I can explain flavours very well eh), with the infuser – the metal strainer to immerse in hot water – the coffee is more intense in colour, but in this case it tastes more of tea than coffee and loses its sweet flavour.
Well, maybe I’m weird, but I prefer it with the infuser.
However you prefer it, you can still add coconut or almond milk and sweeten it preferably with stevia or sweetener, it is recommended to avoid milk and sugar, precisely to fit into the detox program.
HOW IT’S MADE.
The ingredients that make up the blend are all natural and we will now try to study them one by one to try to understand why this coffee should make you lose weight.
INGREDIENTS: Ground Coffee, Ground Green Coffee, Siberian Ginseng, Spirulina, Green Tea Extract, Garcinia Cambogia.

GROUND GREEN COFFEE / GROUND GREEN COFFEE : Green coffee is unroasted (raw) coffee that contains more caffeine. Caffeine has an effect on the disposal of adipose tissue because it stimulates adrenaline and noradrenaline which serve to increase, and therefore speed up, the metabolism.

SIBERIAN GINSENG / SIBERIAN GINSENG : also called Eleutherococcus, is a root that helps increase concentration, improves the body’s performance in response to fatigue and the immune system. In metabolic activity, it mobilizes lipids from the adipose system and activates more heat in our body thus promoting the consumption of more calories.

SPIRULINA : reduces the feeling of hunger through phenylalanine, which is able to act on the appetite nerve center, reducing hunger pangs, causing a feeling of satiety.

GREEN TEA EXTRACT / GREEN TEA EXTRACT : The properties of green tea are mainly tonic, diuretic, purifying and antioxidant. Tea polyphenols also have an important anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor action. Theanine (an amino acid contained in tea) reduces psychophysical stress, while theine has a tonic and stimulating action, increasing the ability to concentrate. Tea also has a good diuretic and purifying action that promotes renal elimination of water and purification of the body.

GARCINIA CAMBOGIA : is a tropical plant that helps keep cholesterol and triglycerides under control, thanks to the fact that it contains hydroxycitric acid. The hydroxycitric acid contained in its peel helps to transform the sugars taken directly into energy instead of transforming them into fats. Among the effects of Garcinia is also the creation of a sense of satiety that helps to limit excesses.
The ingredients do not contain any type of laxative , so the slimming action is not due to any ingredient that promotes a laxative action.
THE PROGRAM.
When you start the Skinny Coffee Club 28 Day Program , you need to track your weight. On the first day, you weigh yourself on an empty stomach, and track your weight every week.

EATING PLAN.
The diet recommended by Skinny Coffee Club starts with the classic foods to avoid – foods to consume, and then concludes with a real food plan and recipes to follow. The plan is quite “American”, eggs for breakfast, avocado salad for lunch and lentils for snacks!!! Since it is a plan very far from the classic Mediterranean diet, I will gladly do without it, trying to take inspiration only from the foods and drinks to avoid.
DRINK.
Water in quantity, at least 1500ml per day.
Lemon Water , a glass as soon as we wake up ( we already know all its properties ).
Tea , anytype of tea (unsweetened or with stevia only) from 1-2 cups per day up to a maximum of 3.
Coffee as much as we want, the important thing is that it is free of toxins.
Fruit juices , preferablynatural homemade ones rather than supermarket ones.
Smoothies without milk (maybe with plant-based milk) or sugar.
Vegetable milk , almond milk, coconut milk.
Natural sugars such as stevia, Xylitol, Erythritol and other natural sweeteners.
FOODS TO AVOID.
White carbohydrates, bread, rice, whole grains, potatoes, pasta and of course sweets and fried foods.
Don’t drink sugary, carbonated or calorie-containing drinks.
Don’t eat fruit that isn’t citrus (but watch out for cystitis!).
Don’t drink animal milk, no cheese, no chocolate.
Obviously all things that they already knew, although I would take everything with a pinch of salt because exceptions to the rule can be made without any problem. And then we are not doctors here and we know well that a diet must be marked by a dietician or a nutritionist!
EXERCISE PLAN.
The exercise plan is similar to the very popular stay-in-shape plans that are popular on the internet.
It is divided into two training plans: High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and Low Intensity Training (LIT). One intense and the other light to be divided into two sessions for both to be done in the week, never on the same day.
A brisk walk, jogging interspersed with more challenging exercises: push-ups, squats, sit-ups, etc.
You know my willpower in physical activity…the hardest sport I ‘ve ever done is the marathon of the new season of Gilmore Girls!!! But I promise myself to walk more and faster.
In conclusion, I will customize my program to my needs and lifestyle, I will avoid junk food, I will prefer (when possible) a walk to the car and of course I will drink my Skinny Coffee Club every morning.
