Ever since that little white box with the pink ribbon has been shining on thousands of photos on social media, I’ve been in love. I have to admit that I’ve known about Pandora for a long time, even though my leather bracelet with the turtle charm was lying peacefully in its little box.
My love for Pandora was born this Christmas and it was all those Instagram profiles with photos of beautiful silver bracelets with the sweetest charms in delicate tones that helped set it off.
For every occasion I love to unwrap a charm, something that reminds me of the moment, something that, even as time passes, will always come back to mind, just looking at a charm that decorates my bracelet.
The thing I like most about these bracelets is the customization. There are those who decide to dedicate it to a special person, those who want to follow a story or a particular color… playing with the pendants and the murrine you can create real masterpieces.
To keep our bracelets beautiful and shiny , however, we must follow some small procedures that Pandora itself suggests. I know that many do not know this, but the charms should be cleaned at least once a week if the bracelet is used often, or once a month. The ladies at the Pandora store even clean it every evening (that’s why their bracelets shine so much).
925 Sterling Silver will tarnish over time, but this will happen prematurely if the jewelry comes into contact with agents such as perfumes, air, salt water, sulfur, skin creams, hair sprays, chlorine and skin with an acidic pH. The extent and speed of oxidation depends on the skin and the grooming habits of the person wearing the jewelry.
We also recommend not wearing jewelry while bathing, in bed or during sports activities. Do not expose the jewelry to strong chemicals, ammonia, bleach, chlorine and salt water. Do not wear the jewelry while cleaning, bathing, swimming and do not expose it to hair sprays, perfumes and cosmetics.
To pamper our silver charms, simply polish them with a soft cloth , the Pandora cloth is perfect, but even a glasses cloth is fine.
For an effective cleaning of silver jewelry here is what I do and what I was advised by Pandora experts and friends who already had it.
{Obviously, pearl or wooden charms and non-silver bracelets should not touch water, so do not follow this guide for those types of jewelry.}
First I separate the charm and bracelet and immerse them in warm water with a little bit of delicate soap (even intimate soap is fine).
Using a soft-bristled toothbrush, I gently clean the decorated charms, which tend to get dirtier.
I rinse well to avoid leaving any soap residue and then dry with a soft cloth .
Then polish with the Pandora cloth or the one for glasses.
It’s super simple and this extra treat will keep your bracelet looking its best.
For Pandora leather and wood you need to proceed differently.
For daily care, wipe the leather/wood with a soft, dry cloth . Leather and wood should be cleaned gently and should not be immersed in water.
Pandora recommends using mild professional cleaning products (without chemicals) or using soap flakes.
For a deep clean , create a little foam in a bowl and apply to the leather/wood surface with a soft , lint-free cloth. Do not use soapy water. Make sure the cloth is damp, not wet. Wipe with a dry cloth .
When I don’t wear the bracelet, or right after cleaning it, I put it in its box, but when you don’t wear it for long periods, separate the bracelet from the charms and put them separately in a protective box, in a waterproof case or in a sealed pvc bag. It will help not to speed up the oxidation process!
